BGC-Ortigas Link Bridge: DELAYED by PNoy, Duterte Delivers

The Duterte Administration officially just opened the Bonifacio Global City (BGC)-Ortigas Link Bridge (also known as the Santa Monica-Lawton Bridge and Kalayaan Bridge), and as usual the Dilawans are very busy insisting that this Project should supposedly be credited to Benigno Aquino III (also known as PNoy or AbNoy Panot) and NOT to President Rodrigo Duterte since AbNoy “started it”. 

The truth is that the AbNoy Administration did plan this Bridge back in 2014, but at the same time the plan then was to finish it by 2016. An Article by The Philippine Star News Publication back in January 2014 said construction was to start in July 2014 and the Bridge completed by June 2016. 

Here is a quote from the Article itself: “In a presentation made before the sectoral committee on infrastructure development of the MMDA-Regional Development Council, the DPWH said the "Bonifacio Global City to Ortigas Center Link Road Project" will directly link the two bustling business districts and will also provide accessibility between the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Taguig and Makati.

The project, which involves the construction of a "bank-to-bank" bridge (similar to the design of the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Cebu) that would cross the Pasig River along J.P. Rizal Street in Makati near the Makati Park and Garden to Sta. Monica Street in Pasig City across.

From the bridge, the route would take the motorist travelling from the BGC through Sta. Monica Street through Shaw Boulevard and then to West Capitol Drive near where the high-end Capitol Commons residential area (formerly the Rizal Capitol) is located.

Engr. Virgilio Bonsol of the DPWH said the construction of the project will start this July and is scheduled to be completed by June of 2016”.

And of course, as we all know, that never happened, and in fact the actual construction of the Bridge only started in July 2017 under the Duterte Administration. So like many of the Projects Digong completed, this is definitely “THANKS DUTERTE” and NOT “Thanks AbNoy Panot”. 

Because Duterte Delivers!!!
