Honduras elects China-friendly President, could stop recognition of Taiwan as Country

The new President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro is friendly towards China. She pledged during her Campaign to sever Diplomatic Ties with Taiwan and establish Diplomatic Relations with China instead. 

Honduras is one of the few remaining Countries that recognize Taiwan as a Country, so if they switch to China then that will pare down even more the Number of those Countries recognizing Taiwan. 

Remember that Honduras is in the same Continent as the United States (US), which means the Americans could be more brazen and desperate in interfering with Honduras’ internal Politics now, same as they are already doing here in the Philippines.  

And before you start feeling sorry for Taiwan, also remember that they stole Itu Aba from the Philippines, and are also claiming Batanes as part of their Territory.
