Vietnam Government tried to hack the Smartphones of US Officials and Others

The Washington Post: Vietnam tried to hack U.S. Officials, CNN with Posts on X, Probe finds

Agents of the Vietnamese Government reportedly tried to plant Spyware on the Smartphones of Lawmakers, Policy Experts and Journalists of the United States (US) this Year of 2023, this is according to Anonymous Documents that were said to have been uncovered by the US Press. 

The Vietnamese Agents reportedly used the Social Network "X" to induce the Americans to visit Websites which then will install the Hacking Software called "Predator". The Software is a hard to detect Surveillance Program that can turn on the Microphone and Cameras on Apple and Google Devices. It can also retrieve all Files and read Private Messages, even ones that are encrypted. 

Those that were targeted were a Congressman and a Senator, both of whom were Members of Foreign Affairs Committees; Asia Experts of Research Organizations, and Security Analysts and Asia-based Reporters at the News Organization CNN.

All I can say is very good for Vietnam. Too bad the Attempts were not very successful, but there’s always next time and who knows, they might be more successful then, :D
