February 14, 2024: GDELS completes Training of PA Troops on the Sabrah ASCOD Light Tank

General Dynamics European Land Systems – Santa Bárbara Sistemas (GDELS-SBS), the Spanish subsidiary of GDELS announced recently that it had completed its first Training of Philippine Army (PA) Troops on their Sabrah Austrian-Spanish Cooperation Development (ASCOD) Light Tank. 

The Training was held in Capas in Luzon which started in January 24, 2024 and ended last February 9, 2024 to Personnel of the First Tank Battalion of the First Armored Division and the Armored Vehicle Maintenance Battalion of the PA. The Training consisted of the Operation, Driving and Maintenance of the Tank. 

A total of 28 Drivers, 15 Commanders and 15 Mechanics complete the Course and were qualified for the Sabrah ASCOD Tank. The Philippines is the fourth User of the ASCOD Family of Vehicles after Spain, Austria and the United Kingdom (UK).

February 15, 2024: PA ASCOD Light Tank at the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Tarlac

It looks like the new Austrian-Spanish Cooperation Development (ASCOD) Light Tank of the Philippine Army (PA) will be among those on Public Display at the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival (PIHABF) at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac from February 16 to 18, 2024. 

So if you are in the Area or is willing to go and visit there, then this is your Opportunity to see the Vehicles in Person and up close. I don’t think I will be going in this Edition of the Event. The Event is open to the Public but it is a Paid Event by the Way, so just search around the Internet if you want to learn more about it
