Here are just more pieces of News about how Technology Companies in the United States (US) are investing billions of Dollars in other Countries in South East Asia (SEA), except in the supposed “Ally” of their Government, the Philippines.
As I have already made a Video about before, “Apple Incorporated” invested Usd 16 billion in Vietnam and plans to invest there even more. And then the “Microsoft Corporation” is investing Usd 4.9 billion in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Both of those Companies though have not announced any new investments into the Philippines thus far.
And now we have first, the US Company “Google LLC” announcing that it is investing Usd 2 billion in Malaysia to put up their first Data Centre and Cloud Region there which will be located in the Malaysian State of Selangor.
The Malaysian Government said that Google's Investment will help their Country move up the Global Value Chain in Terms of Advanced Technologies. Google is now the second US Technology Company to put up a Data Center in Malaysia, with Microsoft Corporation announcing earlier that they were putting up a similar Usd 2.2 billion Center there.
So that’s two US Companies putting up two Data Centers in Malaysia with a combined worth of Usd 4.2 billion.
Next is that another US Technology Giant, “Amazon.com Incorporated” announced recently that it is going to invest nearly Usd 9 billion in the next four Years to expand it Cloud Computing Infrastructure in Singapore.
Amazon said that their Investment will help accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and generative AI in that Country, and help improve further Singapore’s Status as a launching Pad for innovative Technology Companies.
Note that neither Google nor Amazon has announced any such Investments into the Philippines at the time of this writing, this despite the current Foreign Policy of the Administration of President Bong Bong Marcos (PBBM) of favoring the US.
The Philippines clearly is not getting any Economic Benefits thus far from the US despite the PBBM Admin being Pro-US, whoever it is that is benefiting economically from such a Policy, it clearly is not the Philippines as a Country.
