Ruger M77 Rifle used by an ISIS Sniper to secure Mapandi Bridge in Marawi

Among the items for display at the Naval Station Andrada Museum is a modified Ruger M77 Rifle used by ISIS Terrorists to secure Mapandi Bridge, the site of some of the heaviest and toughest fighting during the Battle of Marawi.

From the pictures we can see that among the modifications done on the rifle was a Carrying Handle, Bipod, a Fluted Barrel and Compensator. The modified barrel and compensator helped improve the rifle’s accuracy, which is already pretty good in the first place.

In the end though the rifles such as these were unable to keep ISIS from being defeated in Marawi, in fact this particular rifle was retrieved by Philippine Marine forces after it was left behind when the terrorists were forced to do a hasty retreat from their positions in Mapandi.
