The United States Navy (USN) has decided to just scrap its 40,000 ton USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) Vessel since repairing it would be too expensive and time consuming.

It was estimated that repairing the Vessel will cost Usd 3.2 billion and would take 5-7 Years to complete. It caught fire in July 2020 while docked in San Diego, California, making 60% of it unusable.

The USS Bonhomme Richard is a Wasp class Amphibious Assault Ship which visited the Philippines back in 2018. I was able to take a faraway Photo of it then from the SM Mall of Asia area.
