Ungrateful Hidilyn Diaz badmouths China who helped her Olympic Campaign

After her success in winning the Philippines’ first ever Gold Medal in the Olympics, the Philippine Press apparently has been goading Hidilyn Diaz to say something bad about China. 

Unfortunately it seems she has given in to the pressure and has started saying exactly that, with her being quoted saying things like how the Chinese National Team supposedly got angry at her Chinese Head Coach Gao Kaiwen for not telling them how good she really was. 

She also said that she was proud of having beaten China. 

‘Opinion’

Hidilyn is a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), in fact she had been promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Philippine Air Force (PAF) after her win. I am not sure, but that may have been one reason she felt she had to speak out against China. 

She is also surrounded by People who are Pro-Opposition and therefore are Anti-China and Pro-United States (US). For Starters, the Duterte Federalismo Page on Facebook wrote back in 2019 that her Father was a Member of the Magdalo Partylist Group. 

That Partylist is Pro-Opposition, and its most prominent Members are former Coup Plotters who have been dismissed from the AFP. 

Her Manager, a certain Noel Ferrer is proudly Pro-Opposition, showing it off by changing his Facebook Profile Picture to a Figure used by the Opposition Party. He is also reportedly an ardent Supporter of Opposition (failed) Politician Leni Robredo. 

‘Gao Kaiwen’

Hidilyn herself has credited Gao for being a big part of her success, saying he had introduced novel Regimens and heavier Weights into her Training. 

Gao is not an ordinary Weightlifting Coach though, even before Hidilyn he had already proven himself by Coaching into the Gold Medal in the previous Olympics at least 2 Chinese Athletes, Chen Xiexia and Zhou Lulu. 

With that kind of a reputation, Gao wouldn’t just coach anybody out there who wants him to, he can literally choose whoever he wants to coach. And he would not have coached Hidilyn without the approval of his own Government in China. 

Bottomline is, whether they like it or not, China did have a big role in Hidilyn’s winning the Olympic Gold Medal, but now she badmouths them which I think is very ungrateful. 

‘What’s Next’

Knowing the Pro-US Philippine Opposition, they would’ve blamed Gao and China if Hidilyn had failed in the Olympics. But now that she won, they still insist on somehow blaming China for something. 

That puts Gao in a bad position, as in should he still help a Person who is badmouthing his Country? And what about China itself, how would they feel? If Hidilyn had thanked them also then that probably would’ve eased the pain of them being beaten by her. 

But she didn’t, she instead took the route which the Pro-Opposition Press and People around her wanted to, which is to badmouth China. In this case, I would understand it if China stops supporting her. 

Let her find an American Coach like the Opposition wants who will help her win in the next competitions like the Olympics, if she can afford it.
