Microsoft invests Billions in other SEA Countries, except US “Ally” Philippines

One of the biggest News in the entire South East Asian (SEA) Region recently was how “Microsoft Corporation”, who is not only one of the biggest Companies in the United States (US) but also the entire World, is going out and investing billions of US Dollars in three SEA Countries, none of which is the Philippines, which is supposed to be the “Ally” of Microsoft's Country, the US. 

First, let's start off with INDONESIA where Microsoft said that they will be investing around Usd 1.7 billion to construct Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Infrastructure within the next four Years. 

They said that this will generate Jobs for around 840,000 Indonesians and will help greatly grow Indonesia's Developer Community. Microsoft said that this is the single largest Investment by them in Indonesia thus far. 

Next is MALAYSIA where Microsoft is basically doing the exact same Things, except that they are investing a much larger amount of Usd 2.2 billion which will also be Microsoft's largest single Investment into that Country so far. 

Approximately 200,000 Malaysians are expected to benefit from this Investment, and Microsoft will also be working with the Malaysian Government to establish a National AI Centre of Excellence and help that Government enhance its Cybersecurity Capabilities. 

Last is THAILAND where again Microsoft is investing around the same Things, except that the value will be a little bit smaller than that of Indonesia or Malaysia at Usd 1 billion as per some other News Reports, but still substantial considering that they are not investing anything similar in the Philippines. 

Microsoft estimates that around 100,000 Thais will benefit from these Investment which will help grow further its Software Developer Community. 

All these Investments by Microsoft also includes the establishment of their first Data Center in each of those three Countries. 

So all in all, Microsoft is investing a total of Usd 4.9 billion in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand that will benefit 1.1 million People there, but NONE in the Philippines, who one could argue definitely need such Investments more. 

Note that this announcement by Microsoft comes after President Bong Bong Marcos (PBBM) has been asking or even begging the US Companies for Investments and Jobs after he pivoted his Foreign Policy to favor more the West, particularly the US, than China. 

Note also that unlike the Philippines, there are no US Military Bases in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, and they have no Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT) with the US. This just shows that the US really have no serious Interests in investing in the Philippines, and sees it as just another Proxy Battleground for their War against their Superpower Rivals, just like Ukraine is now. 

Remember also that as I have posted a Video about recently, another major US Company, “Apple Incorporated” announced that it had already invested Usd 16 billion in another SEA Country, Vietnam, and that they intend to invest there even more.
