More Details of the PAF’s new G280 and C295 C2 Aircraft

Department of National Defense (DND) Spokesperson Arsenio Andolong provided some updates on the Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) Command and Control (C2) Aircraft:

* The C295 is set for delivery this year (2019) while the Gulfstream G280 is set for delivery in August 2020.

* The Contract for the C295 is worth Php 1.8 billion (Usd 34.6 million). The Notice to Proceed (NTP) for it was released in October 2018.

* The Contract for the G280 was signed in November 2018 and is worth Php 1.9 billion (Usd 37 million).

* The G280 flies faster than the C295 and will be used as a platform to carry the Philippines’ main leaders in case of crisis situations.

I actually expected the G280 to be delivered in May 2020 before since that will be the start of the Contract of the Logistical Support of the aircraft, but instead it will be delivered three months later than that. Anyway, still good to see these new assets for the PAF.

Gulfstream reports on their website on the G280 aircraft for the PAF

The American company Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. just echoed on their website the Press Release that came out two weeks ago from the United States (US) Department of Defense (DOD) of a G280 Command and Control (C&C) aircraft for the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

Still not much additional details other than that though. To those wondering what the plane looks like, I have attached a photo below courtesy of the official GAC website here.

PAF G280 C&C Aircraft likely to be delivered by May 2020

The United States (US) Department of Defense announced on their website that a Contract has been awarded to Gulfstream worth Usd 31.9 million for one Aircraft plus Parts, Tooling and two years of Logistical Support for the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

The logistical support will end on May 31, 2022 so that means it will start on May 31, 2020 and ideally I think the aircraft should already have been delivered and in use by the PAF by then.

No mention of the model of the aircraft in this news item, but PAF Chief Lt. Gen. Briguez mentioned in a speech a couple of months ago that a Gulfstream G280 Command and Control (C&C) aircraft will be arriving in 2020, so that seems to be the same aircraft.
