.50 cal. RWS for the Parola class Vessels of the PCG

Here is a page from the 116th Anniversary Magazine of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) that I posted last February 2018. It shows the then planned acquisition of six “.50 cal. Heavy Machine Guns (HMG) with Automatic Gyro Stabilizer”.

Back then there were no other details on where they will be installed, nor has any report about the progress of their acquisition been mentioned in the Press since then as far as I can remember.

The recent news though of the BRP Tubbataha fitted with a .50 cal. HMG on a Remote Weapons Station (RWS) shows that this could be one and the same weapon.

However, there are ten Parola class vessels and that report only mentioned six for acquisition, hence not sure if only six will be fitted or that additional purchases might have occurred since then to fit all vessels of that class.
