Simularity, Inc.’s ties to the Philippine Opposition revealed

Rigoberto Tiglao in his recent Article at the Manila Times detailed the ties of the American Firm Simularity, Inc. to the Philippine Opposition. Let me note down some of the important Points: 

* The Company reportedly had been contracted by the United States (US) Government to set up a "South China Sea Rapid Alert Forum" which is uses its interpretation of Satellite Images for Anti-China Propaganda.

* Peter Anthony Abaya, a former Official of the Administration of the late President Benigno Aquino III (also known as PNoy or AbNoy Panot) is a Director of the Simularity, Inc. He is also the Brother of the former Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Abaya who also served under AbNoy.

* A Company owned by Peter Abaya’s Family called Shatter Tech Venture Holdings funded Simularity, Inc. for Usd 1 million (Php 50 million assuming an Exchange Rate of Usd 1 = Php 50).

* Tiglao pointed out how Simularity, Inc. used a Picture of a Ship Dredging and Dumping Sand in Australia on its Report on supposed Raw Sewage in the South China Sea (SCS) to make it look like it was some Ship dumping Raw Sewage in the SCS. 

‘My Notes - Simularity, Inc.’

I first read about Simularity, Inc. a couple of Months ago when they were the source of the images of Chinese Ships in the SCS that started off what I think is the “Whitsun Reef Propaganda Campaign” against China.

That Campaign seemed to have been timed to coincide with the “Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Bravery)” Holiday in the Philippines a couple of Months ago for maximum effect.   

Dan Steinbock’s Article in the Manila Times then detailed how in November 2020, Simularity, Inc. spoke at an Anti-China Conference where the Stratbase Albert Del Rosario Institute (ADRI) and BowerGroup Asia (BGA) also attended.

Del Rosario is a known Anti-China, Pro-US Advocate while BGA is funded by American Defense Companies. 

Simularity, Inc. again kicked off another Anti-China Propaganda Campaign recently after claiming that Chinese Vessels were supposedly dumping Raw Sewage and damaging Corals and Reefs in the SCS.

‘Parting Notes’

So let me summarize all the important facts above: The Company Simularity Inc. that is run by Americans and is constantly used for Anti-China Propaganda Campaigns turned out to funded by the Family of an Official of the Aquino Administration. 

That same Official is also a Director of the Company. Simularity, Inc. was seen in a Conference with Anti-China, Pro-US Allies of the Pnoy Administration and an American Company funded by American Defense Companies.    

Bright as day now where all the Anti-China agitations are coming from.
