My thoughts exactly shared also by Dan Steinbock in a recent Article of his posted on the Manila Times, that there seems to be a concerted effort behind the Scenes to inflame tensions in the South China Sea (SCS), with one of the goals being to pressure President Rodrigo Duterte to continue the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) with the Americans.
Among the most important points from Steinbock’s Article are:
* The Philippines only named the Reef the “Julian Felipe Reef” in 2008 whereas both China and Vietnam had already christened it with their own Names even before the start of World War Two (WW2).
* Simularity Inc., the American Firm that supplied the Satellite Images of the Chinese Fishing Vessels at the Julian Felipe Reef, was seen attending a Conference last November 2020 hosted by the Stratbase Albert Del Rosario Institute (ADRI) and BowerGroup Asia (BGA).
* Among the Speakers at that Conference was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Simularity Inc. and known Anti-China Advocate Antonio Carpio.
* BGA is mainly funded by American Defense Companies like Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, General Dynamics and General Atomics.
* A top Official of BGA is also a Board Member of Stratbase ADRI. Another Official of BGA also is a Senior Associate at CSIS, and yet another Official of the BGA once served as Senior Adviser for the US Army.
* The Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI) is an organization under the CSIS.
Note that these are the only connections that we can see and verify publicly, we don’t know the true extent of their connections for real which may run even deeper.
As for AMTI (which is part of CSIS and BGA), it has been acting as an “Agent Provocateur”, constantly feeding the Philippine Press with Anti-China information.
The Philippines will never be a truly free Country as long as the Americans are around to manipulate Sectors of Philippine Society to serve their interests.
