Taurus Armas wins Bid to supply 12,412 Rifles to the Philippine Army

The Brazilian Company Taurus Armas won the Bid to supply 12,412 units of their T4 Rifle to the Philippine Army (PA). The Contract is worth Usd 7.3 million (Php 350.4 million at the Exchange Rate of Usd 1 = Php 48). 

This breaks down to around Usd 569.2 (Php 28.2k) per unit. Delivery will reportedly be within the first half (January to June) of 2021.

The T4 is a licensed built Version by Taurus Armas of the M4 Rifle originally built by the American Company Colt Manufacturing LLC. The T4 pictured above is the Semi-Automatic Version with a non-Railed Handguard. 

It is also offered with Railed Handguards as shown in the Video below, similar to the R4 Rifles from the American Company Remington Arms that the Government bought a couple of Years ago.  

These T4 Rifles are also considerably cheaper at Usd 569.2 per unit compared to the Usd 833.9 per unit Price of the R4 Rifles which were bought at Usd 420 million (Php 1.9 billion at the Exchange Rate of Usd 1 = Php 45 back then) for 50,639 units.
