The BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) vessel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is now on the Marine Traffic website, it is currently anchored off the Port of Colombo in Sri Lanka. Based on its location, it seems that it is finally on its way home to the Philippines
Here are some of the results of the Sea Trial of the BRP Gabriela Silang as of October 2019. Compared to an equivalent vessel made of steel for the same operational profile, the BRP Silang showed:
- 42% Fuel Savings
- Carbon Dioxide emission is reduced to an equivalent of 850 tons per year for 2,500 hours of operation
Noise level is also only 45 decibels in the Wheelhouse and 70 decibels in the Rear Deck.
