Php 12 million for Maintenance of PN Helicopters up for Bidding

Php 12 million has been allocated for the Repair and Spare Parts of the Communications, Electronic and Navigation Sensors of the Philippine Navy’s (PN) five AW109E Power and two AW159 Wildcat helicopters.

I think that the PN are buying these in advance for the regular, scheduled maintenances of the helicopters. Maintaining sophisticated military equipment is costly as they do need scheduled maintenance also after a certain amount of time of use.

Philippine Navy Bits and Pieces – Jan. 28, 2020

Just some bits and pieces about the Philippine Navy (PN) from this article by the Philippine News Agency (PNA):

* BRP Rizal (PS-74) and BRP Nicolas Mahusay (PC-119) are set to be decommissioned tomorrow on Wednesday, January 29, 2020

* The PN phasing out old ships as Personnel previously manning these Vessels will be the ones who will operate the new Vessels coming in

* The PN also says that the old Vessels have already outlived their usefulness and can no longer perform well in their designated missions as their speeds and other equipment have deteriorated through their long service
