There has been a lot of noise in the Philippine Press lately on the issue of the Prices of the Vaccines for the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19), so I decided to do some research on my own on what really should be the Prices of those based on the available information on the Internet.

My findings are below, and for the sake of transparency I included the Links on where I found them next to the Prices or on the "Sources" below. Note that the Prices below are PER DOSE, and it takes at least 2 doses per Vaccine for the immunization.

Also, some Articles only posted the Prices in their native Currencies, so I had to convert those into Usd using Google’s own Currency Converter:

* CoronaVac made by Sinovac Biotech Ltd

* AZD1222 made by AstraZeneca

* BNT162b2 made by Pfizer/BioNTech
- Usd 20 (Indonesia bets on China Vaccine for head start on Economic Recovery)

* BBIBP-CorV made by Sinopharm
- Usd 77.26 in India (Here is what one Dose of various Covid-19 Vaccines will cost in India)

* Sputnik V made by Gamaleya Institute
- Usd 10.04 in India (Here is what one Dose of various Covid-19 Vaccines will cost in India)

‘DOH Data’
Much if not all of the issue has been coming out from the Prices that Senator Sonny Angara released to the Press, which in turn he claims came from the Department of Health (DOH) during a Hearing back in November 2020.

As per Angara/DOH data, the Price of Sinovac in the Philippines is supposedly at around Usd 37.78 per Dose (at the Exchange Rate of Usd 1 = Php 48).

Below is the Table showing the Covid-19 Vaccines that Angara said he got from the DOH:

DOH Data on Covid-19 Vaccine Prices as per Angara
DOH Data on Covid-19 Vaccine Prices as per Angara

As we can see, the Prices that was released to the Internet was relatively near to the Prices that the DOH used.

'BFF Price'
The Government finally revealed recently though that the Price of the CoronaVac Vaccine that China offered to the Philippines was much lower than what is quoted in the Internet, at a "Best Friend Forever" Price, that it was in fact only around Usd 13.5 (Php 650) per Dose.

I understand the need for confidentiality in some dealings, but such confidentialities are easily exploited by the Americans and their Filipino Dogs using Intrigue and Malice.

The only answer to that is to be as transparent about the dealings as much as possible because if not, it will be twisted around. Like in the case of these Covid-19 Prices, they will twist things around and say their noise forced China to lower the Price.

That may not have been true, but that is how they will make things appear.
