Here are my "Quick" Movie or Series Reviews for the Year 2023:
July 28, 2023: QUICK MOVIE REVIEW: “Bird Box Barcelona” (2023) Movie Review, not as good as the first one, but the first one was a hard act to follow anyway since it truly was a Modern Classic. This one is still a very worthy Sequel with its own nice thrills and chills, and also adds a little more information on the nature of the “Beings”.
There is an Twist revealed during the first 15 minutes which made the Movie a lot more interesting. Sebastian, the Movie’s Main Character is truly a tortured Soul, and makes for one of the most interesting Anti-Hero Characters I seen lately. Highly Recommended, Four out of Five Stars
July 13, 2023: QUICK MOVIE REVIEW: “The Out-Laws” (2023) Movie Review, ignore what the corrupt Professional Critics are saying about it on Rotten Tomatoes, it is pretty well written, fast-paced, with good, witty Dialogues, interesting Characters and lots of funny Moments. A pretty decent Budget also for all those Stunts and Sets. Definitely one of Adam Devine’s better Movies, aside from the “Pitch Perfect” Series. Highly recommended, Four Out of Five Stars
June 19, 2023: QUICK MOVIE REVIEW: “Extraction 2” (2023) Movie Review, the Action Scenes are definitely the highlight of this Movie, especially the ones with the long Takes like the Prison “Extraction” and Railway Scenes which were simply breathtaking, to say the least. Even the Dubai Scene later was also pretty good, with the Antagonists wearing the latest Style in Body Armor. The overall Story was a bit predictable and just standard fare, though. Awesome to see “Tyler Rake” has the “Eastern European Assassin” Character Actress Olga Kurylenko as his Wife. Overall, Highly Recommended, Four out of Five Stars
June 17, 2023: QUICK SERIES REVIEW: “Black Mirror” (2023) Season 6, another amazing Season, further cementing its reputation as one of the very best Series out there right now. Just five Episodes, but at least longer than what I remember the Episodes of the previous Seasons were. Almost all Episodes were fantastic, except for the S06E03 “Beyond the Sea” which was predictable to me and somewhat pointless. Still, overall, a Must See for me, Five out of Five Stars
June 14, 2023: QUICK SERIES REVIEW: “Manifest” (2023) Season 4 - Part 1 and 2 (S04P1-P2), Finally finished the Series, much of S04 just wasn’t as good as S01 to S03, the Time Jumps sort of dampened things and didn’t make it as compelling as the previous Seasons, so I just sort of sleepwalked thru most of it. Things start to pick up in the last five Episodes though and ultimately resulting in a very satisfying ending for all of the Characters we’ve seen thru the Years. Overall, I would rate this Season as just Recommended, or Three out of Five Stars
June 9, 2023: QUICK LIMITED SERIES REVIEW: “Arnold” (2023), Arnold Schwarzenegger tells his Life Story as it is, and he is a pretty good Storyteller. And about time also, too, since he is already in his mid-70s. So many Facts, Pictures and Videos that I haven’t seen before were shown about his Life that most People can only dream of living. And he didn’t stay away from the Controversies, some of which he addressed head on. A relatively short Series, only three Episodes but a Must-Watch for me, Five out of Five Stars
June 1, 2023: QUICK SERIES REVIEW: “FUBAR” (2023) Season 1, this is basically a Family Comedy-Drama that just happens to be in a Spy-Action-Thriller Setting, and it works for me because it is funny and the Characterizations are pretty good. Arnold Scharzenegger’s Comedic Timing is a bit awkward at times, but he does still deliver the Laughs. Highly Recommended for me, Four out of Five Stars
May 25, 2023: QUICK MOVIE REVIEW: “Moment of Contact” (2022), I first heard about this Movie in a Clip on Social Media by Joe Rogan, and after watching it I would say that it is one of the most important and most compelling Documentaries about Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO), makes me wonder why it’s not on Netflix. The number of Witnesses about the Event they were able to Interview is stunning, and they all jibe together nicely in terms of how the Event went. This is a great Movie to watch whether you are a Believer or Skeptic of UFOs. A Must Watch for me, Five out of Five Stars
May 23, 2023: QUICK MOVIE REVIEW: “Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me” (2023), a great Movie, so many Parallels between her and her idol Marilyn Monroe, including the Fact that they both died before they reached the Age of 40. Must Watch for me, Five out of Five Stars
May 20, 2023: QUICK MOVIE REVIEW: “The Mother” (2023). Had a promising start, but sort of petered out starting in the middle. Overall tolerable enough to watch and finish, Three out of Five Stars, recommended
