While BBM wants a Deal about “Maritime Cooperation” with Vietnam, Vietnam vowed to strengthen its Cooperation with China

Bong Bong Marcos (BBM) recently told Vietnam’s Ambassador to the Philippines Hoang Huy Chung that he wanted to establish a “Maritime Cooperation” Agreement with them.

Not much details was revealed about this Agreement, but just remember that Vietnam STOLE Pugad Island from the Philippines in the 1970s, and that Vietnam occupies the most number of Features in the South China Sea (SCS) that the Philippines claims also.

However, while this was happening, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu went to a Working Visit to Beijing, China to meet with Officials of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Office to enhance the cooperation between their two Countries. Among the Items they specifically discussed are:

* Increase Exchanges between Parties, Governments and Parliaments on matters of Defence, Security, Law Enforcement, Trade, Transport and Tourism;

* Both Sides to take Measures to boost Economic Recovery in terms of facilitating Customs Clearances and the export of Vietnamese Farm Products to China;

* The establishment of Vietnamese Trade Promotion Offices in the Chinese Cities of Chengdu and Haikou, and for opening a Consulate in the Chinese Municipality of Chongqing

So if BBM was thinking of partnering with Vietnam against China, then that doesn’t seem like a good Idea, not to mention the Fact that Vietnam also have many transgressions against the Philippines which he seems to be conveniently ignoring at the moment
