To Indonesia: Don’t let the U.S. LURE your Armed Forces with Military Scholarships the same way they did with the Philippine Military

Highlighted Parts of the Statements of Prabowo and Austin

The Minister of Defense of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto visited the Pentagon in the United States (US) recently, and was welcomed by the US' Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and one thing that caught my Eye was the Fact that the US now seems to be using the same Tactic on Indonesia that they did to influence the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and that is by offering SCHOLARSHIPS to the Indonesian Military. 

Austin himself said that this will be the first time that the Indonesian Military will have Cadets in all three of their Military Academies. Quoting Austin himself, “… also marks the first time that Indonesia has had Cadets in all three of our Military Service Academies …”

Prabowo himself confirmed this in another Statement and said that thousands of Indonesian Cadets and Civilians are now in the US. Quoting the Statement, “… for the first time this Year, there were Indonesian Cadets in the Army, Air Force, and Naval Service Academies. Minister Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the Education of more than 7,000 Indonesian Military Personnel and Civilians in the United States …”

Indonesia should be wary about this, because what will happen is that these Cadets will naturally feel indebted to the US after getting these Scholarships from them and therefore will side with them, the same thing that happened in the AFP. 

Moreover, after some time it could develop later wherein US-educated Officers could then informally and/or formally band together to develop a Clique or Community which are Pro-US and will support each other and there monopolizing the Promotions in the Indonesian Armed Forces, again as what seems to have happened in the AFP. 

Here in the Philippines, they managed to STOP the Scholarships of Military Officers to China courtesy of the Pro-US, Anti-China Senator Raffy Tulfo, so this could be the Target of the US also. Indonesia has to ensure that if they will allow Military Scholarships, it should be either to BOTH Superpowers, or NONE at all, not to just allow to one Superpower, particularly the US.
