The U.S. Navy announced recently a Contract awarded to the United Kingdom (UK) company BAE Systems for the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) II Guided Rockets to support Foreign Military Sales to various countries including the Philippines.
Remember that it was announced late last year by the Philippine government that it was getting the Guided Advance Tactical Rocket (GATR) by the Israeli company Elbit Systems, so this acquisition of the APKWS II marks the second type of Guided Rocket system to be acquired by the Philippines.
No details though on quantity, cost and delivery for the APKWS II. Maybe the details will come out later, maybe not, so we’ll just have to wait for the news as they come.
