The BRP Cebu (PS-28) Patrol Vessel, a Malvar class vessel of the Philippine Navy (PN), has been decommissioned. This is the second Malvar class vessel that was decommissioned by the PN this year, the other one was the BRP Sultan Kudarat (PS-22) which was decommissioned last July 2019.
The BRP Cebu was commissioned into service in 1944 with the United States Navy (USN) as an Admirable class vessel before being transferred and commissioned into the PN in 1948.
So imagine that, 71 years in service with the PN. Rest well, old lady, you have served all the navies you have been with very well.
