Another good news about the modernization of the Philippine Navy (PN) is that the Notice to Proceed (NtP) for the upgrade Del Pilar class Vessels was released in November 2019 to the South Korean company Hanhwa Systems Co.
The schedule for the completion of the upgrade though is very long, 3 ½ years so that means all work should be completed by May 2023. The Contract is worth Php 1.3 billion (Usd 25.5 million).
The upgrade is for all three vessels and includes the installation of Hull Mounted Sonars (HMS), Combat Management System (CMS) and Radar Electronic Support Measure (RESM).
