Anonymous sources told the Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) that the Japanese company Japan’s Mitsubishi Electric Corp. was awarded the contract for the Philippine Air Force’s (PAF) Air Surveillance Radar Project.
The Notice of Award was reportedly released recently and a Contract Signing is expected to be made with the next two months. The Project is worth Php 5.5 billion (Usd 103 million) for worth of three Fixed and one Mobile Radar Systems. Delivery is expected to by late 2021 or in 2022.
Once the Contract is signed, this will be the first export of Japanese Military equipment since it started banning export of such equipment in the 1970s.
