The Notice of Awards for the FAIC Vessels and Weapons |
The Notice of Award (NOA) for the Fast Attack Interdiction Craft-Missile (FAIC-M) Vessels and Weapons of the Philippine Navy (PN) has just been released to the Public by the Department of National Defense (DND), they were dated earlier this Month (January 2021).
The NOAs were released thru the Israel Ministry of Defense since the transaction went thru a Negotiated Procurement, the NOA for the Vessels was released to Israel Shipyards Ltd while the NOA for the Weapons was released to Rafael Advanced Systems Ltd.
The Contract for the FAIC-M Vessels was worth a total of Usd 127.9 million (or Php 6.16 billion at the Exchange Rate of Usd 1 = Php 48.18) for 8 Vessels, or Usd 15.9 million (Php 770 million) for each Vessel.
The Contract for its Weapons on the other hand was worth a total of Usd 79.4 million (Php 3.8 billion) for the 8 Vessels.

Only 4 of the FAIC-Ms will be armed with Spike Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) Missiles, the other 5 will be with Automatic Cannons, likely on a Remote Weapons Station (RWS) Mount.
Even older News Reports from January 2020 said that 4 of the FAICs will be built at the PN Cavite Naval Shipyard in Sangley Point, Cavite City.
