Last Week (April 4 to 10, 2021), no Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Vaccine delivery was made, but there were some developments that happened.
First is that the first shipment 525,600 doses of the AZD1222 Vaccines made by AstraZeneca has “run out”, I assume this means that they have either been injected already or reserved for the second shot.
Second is that the World Health Organization (WHO) explained that the next shipment of 979,200 AZD1222 Vaccines from the COVAX Facility was delayed due to a Global Vaccine Shortage due to the Worldwide increase in Covid-19 Cases.
The WHO also said that the next shipment will arrive in the next couple of Weeks, but in reduced quantity, so it won’t be the 979,200 doses anymore.
* For China’s CoronaVac, only 1.5 million doses will be delivered instead of the up to 2 million.
* For Russia’s Sputnik V, only 500,000 doses will be delivered instead of 3 million, short by 2.5 million. This will be the first ever delivery of the Sputnik V to the Philippines and they are set to arrive on April 12, 2021.
* The 1 million doses from the COVAX Facility has been cancelled for now, they may still be delivered at a much later date.
And take note that unlike China, Russia has not donated any Vaccines to us, all the scheduled arriving Sputnik V Vaccines were bought.
