CNN: PH may drop China funding for Railroad Project by Year-End without Beijing's Confirmation |
China’s funding of the Laguna to Bicol Railway Project (also known as the Philippine National Railway or PNR South Long Haul Project) will very lilkely be cancelled, this after the Department of Transport (DOTR) revealed recently that China has not yet approved the Loan Agreement for it up to now.
The DOTR said that if no development occurs by the end of this Year of 2023, they will decide whether to to continue the Project with China or terminate the Deal with them.
If the Deal doesn’t push thru with China, the Government plans to try to get Loans from other Countries, or to offer it as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Program.
The Delay I think is probably due in part to the intense Tensions that has arisen between the Philippines and China in the South China Sea (SCS) recently. You don’t have to be a Genius to figure out that if you keep quarreling with another Country, of course they will be hesitant to help you in any way anymore.
If the Deal is cancelled, this will likely be at least the second China Project in the Philippines that will not push thru, the first being the Reclamation Project for a new, modern City in Manila Bay that the United States (US) and their Pinoy A** Kissers sabotaged which caused Bong Bong Marcos (BBM) to suspend it and could be on its way to being cancelled also.
As I keep saying whenever China Projects are cancelled here in the Philippines, let the US make up for the Loans and Funding, they haven’t paid us enough for the nine Military Bases that BBM gave them, and yet they couldn’t even fund our Infrastructure Projects?
Japan could be an alternate Source of Funding, but they already are spending a lot on us and other Countries, and their Wallets are not limitless. South Korea could be another Source, but their Wallets are even less than that of Japan.
Europe could be another Source, but they have a LOT of Conditions and their Bureaucracy ensures that the Project won’t be funded soon.
