Channel News Asia (CNA): Philippines says Japan, South Korea, India offer to fund Railway Projects

The Department of Transportation (DOTR) Secretary Jaime Bautista announced recently that the Philippine Government COULD try to tap three other Countries (Japan, South Korea and India) to replace China's financing of three Railway Projects worth at total of around Usd 5 billion.

The three Railway Projects are the Subic-Clark Railway, Philippine National Railways (PNR) South Long Haul Project and the Mindanao Railway

‘My Opinions’
First of all, so it will take THREE Countries to replace the funding capability of one Country that is China? That goes to show how strong China’s funding capability is in that not one Country could replace them, not even Japan or South Korea.

And where is the United States (US) by the way, why aren’t they footing the Bill for those Projects? Why is that that their other Vassals like Japan and South Korea are doing it instead of them?

Second, it is not yet “happening”, Bautista clearly used the Word “Could”, so it may or may not happen. But I will give them the Benefit of the Doubt, let’s see if these will really push thru, then.

‘Sangley Project’
Meanwhile, let’s take a look at what happened to one particular Project which China was removed from and replaced with somebody else, the Sangley Point International Airport (SPIA) Project. The US and their Filipino Doggies lobbied hard against it, causing the Government of Cavite to finally drop China from the Project.

A Consortium led by a South Korean Company eventually was chosen to replace Chinese Involvement in the Project, but up to now they still haven’t done a Groundbreaking, the last Information about it I could find was that it seems to have been reset to around February 2024.

Note that under the original Schedule when it was still being backed by China, the Groundbreaking was supposed to have been made back in 2020, but since the US and their Pinoy Doggies SABOTAGED and delayed it, then Project is now at least three Years late and counting. If we go by the February 2024 Schedule, it will be four Years late.

If it had pushed thru then, it would’ve been finished already by next Year of 2024 since construction was supposed to take four Years. Instead, it is now just beginning, and assuming that there will be no more delays, it will only be finished by around 2028.

Sino ang Kawawa’ (who ends up being sorry) in the End? Not the US, but the Philippines.
