Russia could supply to the Philippines their Covid-19 Vaccines as early as January 2021

As per the Philippines’ Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta, Russia could start supplying its Vaccines for the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) as early as January 2021 if the Philippine Government Health Agencies completes its evaluations of them on time. 

The Vaccines won’t require extremely cold Temperatures to store, but could be a little bit more expensive. Russia has currently approved at least two Covid-19 Vaccines, the Sputnik V and the EpiVakKorona

The Philippines is joining the Biggest Trading Block in the World

In a piece of News that is being reported everywhere except most of the Philippine Press because it is against the interests of the United States (US), China has signed a major trade deal with 14 other Countries in the Asia-Pacific Region. 

The deal is called the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) which is made up of 10 Southeast Asian Countries (including the Philippines) as well as South Korea, China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

This new Trading Block is the biggest in the World, it is contains a third of the World's entire Population and accounts for 29% of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It is bigger than the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement and even the European Union (EU).

The Philippines’ BrahMos acquisition update – Nov. 12, 2020

Some updates about the Philippines’ planned acquisition of the PJ-10 BrahMos Missile from the Indian Publication, Hindustan Times (HT):

* The Procurement Agreement or Contract of the Philippines’ acquisition of the BrahMos Missile was supposed to have been done last November 6, 2020 during a Virtual Meeting between Indian External Affairs Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar and Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. 

The Philippines could get the Mi-171 Hip Helicopter from Russia

The Department of National Defense (DND) told the Defense Publication Jane’s recently that it is close to a decision on whether or not to acquire 16 Mi-171 Hip Helicopters from Russia. 

No Notice of Award (NOA) has been given to the Russian Manufacturer of the Aircraft yet, and the possible acquisition is valued at Php 12.8 billion (Usd 265 million at the Exchange Rate of Usd 1 = Php 48.3).

AFP establishes a Military Camp on the Great Bakkungaan Island near Sabah

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) established a Military Camp at the Great Bakkungaan Island in Tawi-Tawi recently to help stop Smuggling, Piracy and Kidnapping in the Area.

If you look at the location of the Great Bakkungaan Island on Google Maps, it is actually only approximately less than 20 km from the nearest Coast of Sabah

The DND’s Statements on the arrival of the S-70i Helicopters in the Philippines

The Department of National Defense (DND) has finally issued some Statements about the arrival of the S-70i Black Hawk Helicopters for the Philippine Air Force (PAF) from Poland, and these are:

* The delivery of one S-70i will indeed be by Sea, but contrary to some Reports from the Polish Press, it was not delivered in August 2020 and will instead will arrive in the Philippines by December 2020.

Update (11/10/20): As per the Department of National Defense (DND), the delivery of one S-70i will indeed be by Sea, but contrary to some Reports from the Polish Press, it was not delivered in August 2020 and will instead will arrive in the Philippines by December 2020.

According to the Polish Press, PZL Mielec announced during the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO held in Poland last September 2020 that the first S-70i Black Hawk Helicopter for the Philippine Air Force (PAF) was delivered by Ship.
