Just something that came up during the discussions on the post about the improvements on the FA-50 aircraft that Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is planning.
Here is a comparison on the number of Combat Aircraft of the Air Forces of China and the Philippines as per the 2019 Flight Global International World's Air Forces article.
This is the reason why I think the FA-50PH that we have right now should be upgraded with as much combat capability as much as possible if only so they can at least act as Force Multipliers when ranged against a country with an Air Force as formidable as that of China.
China of course needs to allocate those aircraft from possible attack by their neighbors like India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, etc., but unless all those countries attack together at the same time then they are free to temporarily allocate some of their resources to where they are most needed at the moment.
China also has a number of Surface to Air Missile (SAM) systems to supplement their Interceptor and Fighter aircraft for Air Defense.
