The Director of Australia's Lowy Institute, Sam Roggeveen said that the United States (US) might lack the resolve to match China in Asia since China is much larger than its former Cold War opponent, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) in Economic terms.
Roggeveen cited an Australian White Paper written in 2017 that said that by 2035, China's economy is projected to be worth Usd 42 Trillion while the US will only be at Usd 24 Trillion by that time.
