US reprimanded Pakistan for “Misusing” the F-16 Aircraft they bought from them

The United States (US) sent a formal, Written Reprimand to the Chief of the Pakistani Air Force (PAF) for “misusing” the F-16C Fighter Aircraft that Pakistan bought from them.

The US had set Conditions for the sale of the F-16 to Pakistan, and one of these is that it and its missiles be be based on only two approved Bases, and Pakistan in February 2019 moved the aircraft and its missiles to an unapproved Base.

Another condition set by the US for the F-16 is that these be used only for Counter Terrorism purposes and not against any other Country.

India in February 2019 accused Pakistan of using the F-16 against them, and even presented as evidence parts of AIM-120 Advanced Medium Range Air to Air Missile (AMRAAM) which only the F-16 in Pakistan's inventory is able to fire.

If Pakistan continues to defy the US in terms of the usage of the F-16, one sanction they could impose is to simply stop the sale of Weapons and Spare Parts used by the aircraft.

Remember that the US had done this before to other Countries like India and Indonesia, which is why both those Countries insist on operating aircraft also from Russia.

The US had also done this to the Philippines in the 1960s during our conflict with Malaysia over Sabah. Spare Parts for our US made Aircraft then suddenly became scarce as the US did not approve our disagreement with Malaysia.
