Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said that the Philippines will be deploying Military Assets and Troops to assist in the repatriation of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) to the Middle East, especially those from Iraq.
The assets and troops will consists of:
- One Battalion from the Philippine Army (PA)
- One Battalion from the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC)
- Two Tarlac class Landing Docks (LD) of the Philippine Navy (PN)
- Two C-130 Hercules Transport Aircraft of the Philippine Air Force (PAF)
- One C-295 Transport Aircraft of the PAF
The BRP Gabriela Silang which is on its way to the Philippines from France will also be utilized, as well as Commercial Planes and Cruise Ships if necessary.
