Just some updates on the Multi-Role Fighter (MRF) Program of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) from the Shepard Media Publication:
* The United States (US) is reportedly working with the Philippines on a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) deal for the F-16V Block 70 aircraft, with Lockheed Martin is promoting the with ground demonstrations while the US Department of Defense (DoD) is assisting with flight demonstrations.
* Either Saab or Shepard Media estimates that number of aircraft based on the budget allocation for the JAS-39C/D Gripen could be only around six to eight aircraft.
* The PAF’s MRF Technical Working Group (TWG) reportedly has evaluated the Gripen in Sweden and other Air Forces over the past few years as part of its evaluation process.
