The Philippine Navy’s (PN) Flag Officer in Command (FOIC) Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo said that he is opposing the removal of the PN out of Sangley Point to give way to the Sangley Point International Airport (SPIA) Project.
I too would not agree to the removal of the PN from the Airport just to give way to the Project, but as far as I know, the SPIA will be co-used by not only the PN but also the Philippine Air Force (PAF) as mentioned in News Reports in December 2019.
The Inquirer itself mentioned in the Article above that only the PAF was mentioned in News Reports last December 2019, but as can be seen from the Link I provided from the Philippine Star, clearly the PN is mentioned there also.
Bacordo apparently was reacting to an Opinion Article published a couple of Days ago on the Philippine Star by this certain Jarius Bondoc who said that the PN would be booted out of the Project.
I remember this Bondoc being caught a couple times before spreading Fake News also, so this one could be another one of those.
At any rate, even if the December 2019 Philippine Star Article I mentioned above clearly showed the intent of having the PAF and PN co-existing with the SPIA, it would be best if the Cavite Government officially releases another Statement or Press Release reiterating that both the PAF and PN will not be dislocated by the SPIA.
