"Vietnam. Philippines. Friends".

Supposedly what the Vietnamese Fishermen told the Philippine Fishermen they rescued recently, according to the "story" supposedly given by one of the Filipino Fishermen.

So dramatic, and so manipulative. It shows how the Press is manipulating the narrative of Vietnam's presence in our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)

First of all, supposed to be no foreigners are allowed to fish in our EEZ, not even the super nice Vietnamese who rescued our Fishermen. Like it or not, they (the Vietnamese) should not have been there in the first place.

Second, Vietnam claims the Recto Bank as their own, that is why the insist on being there.

Third, Vietnam did go out and brazenly steal territory in the South China Sea (SCS) from us back in 1975, and that is Pugad Island, which also goes by the name Southwest Cay.

How Vietnam stole Pugad Island from us is detailed in the article by the Manila Times. Let me quote the particular passage from the article:

"This is the second time we lost territory in the South China/West Philippine Sea. Marcos’ forces on Pugad Island in 1975 lost that territory when they attended their commander’s birthday party on the nearby Parola island, reportedly lured by the prospect of Vietnamese prostitutes stationed there as promised by their Vietnamese friends. They returned the next day to find a Vietnamese full-armed garrison, their cannons aimed at whoever approached the island."

But the Vietnamese are so nice because they rescued our Fishermen!! Does that mean it is "okay" for them to fish in our seas now? Really?
