"Warriors of Future" Poster |
Yes, I know, that Movie Title seems pretty stup1d, I think at the very least it should’ve been “Warriors of THE Future” instead of just “Warriors of Future”. “Warriors of Future!!!” “WARRIORS OF FUTURE!!!”, LOL. I guess we should be glad they didn’t call it, “Warriors of Golden State”, LMAO.
This is actually a Hong Kong Movie Production, and as far as I know they are pretty good at English also so I wonder what happened with this one. Also they could’ve thought of a more creative Title than one that is a fairly common Phrase or consists of fairly common Words.
Anyway, despite the “B-Movie” type of a Title, the Movie is actually pretty good, with very good Production Values, Special Effects and Action Scenes. The Plot is fairly decent, as are the Characterization.
It is a Military SciFi type of Movie, it is set in a Dystopian near Future of 2055 where the Air is Toxic and on top of that there is also an Alien Invasion.
What made the Movie really interesting for me is that the Creative Team behind it has a good understanding of how current Military Technology works, like for example, the light Missiles do a soft launch before igniting their main Rocket Engines, they get spooked by Decoys, etc.
This makes their interpretation of future Military Technology like the Exoskeletons and Drones somewhat more plausible and believable to me. The MRAP type Vehicle used in some of the Scenes is probably based on an existing one that I am too lazy to research about now, but it looks quite cool.
The best Scenes are probably during the Vehicle and Drone Chase Scenes towards the middle part of the Movie and where they really were able to showcase well things like the Vehicles, Drones, Exoskeletons, etc. And it was pretty thrilling also.
Anyway, a Must-Watch for me for Military Enthusiasts. I like it also that this is a non-Western, mainly Asian Production that is still pretty entertaining to watch. I hope they do a Sequel and that it will be at least as good as this one.
It seems that it is originally dubbed in Cantonese, but it also has dubbing in other Languages like English, by the way, so you can choose that option if you watch it like I did.
