It was great to be back in Davao City after around four Years. As I mentioned before, for me, Davao City has that same “feels” and sights as some of the major Cities in Metro Manila like Pasay, Quezon City or Las Pinas.
Mobile Internet Signal with Dito Telecom is pretty good, I don’t remember having any major problems accessing the Internet when going there using it. GCash is also pretty common in most Malls and Stores, I remember only very few Business Establishments not having it and me being forced to pay in Cash.
GrabFood and FoodPanda is also very readily available, even during Breakfast hours, so we absolutely had no problems getting Food whenever we wanted to.
GrabTaxi and the ordinary Taxi Fares were surprisingly low, typically only around Php 100-200 at most on the Places I visited to when I used them. The ordinary Taxis to me also seem a little bit less rundown than what we have around Metro Manila.
I didn’t get to visit much of the Attractions as I had already been there before for some, and this Trip was more of for a Personal Nature anyway.
No new big Malls that I know of have sprung up since the last time I was there, still the big three in Abreeza Mall, SM Lanang and SM Ecoland. I was surprised with the historic Victoria Plaza though. It was the first major Mall in Mindanao and the last time I was there it was a dying Place, much like Harrison Plaza before it completely disappeared.
But under a new Management, it has been revived and now looks and feels like a proper Mall. The City, much like the rest of the Philippines is going back to normalcy with the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Pandemic being almost over.
So a great City, I felt very much at home there as I would be in any major City in Metro Manila. Until my next visit ...
