Tempo: Prabowo Subianto: Indonesia won't side with US or China in Conflict

Indonesia’s Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto recently told the World that his Country will not side with the United States (US) or China in any Conflict, saying that Indonesia will continue to adhere to its free and active Foreign Policy. 

He also said, “We respect all countries, the United States, China, Russia, India, Japan, and all”. Although this Policy of Neutrality affects both Superpowers, it will hurt the US more as China is already very near South East Asia (SEA). 

It is the US who is far away and wants to establish a Presence here and get Allies, but Indonesia will never help them defend Taiwan, nor will they allow US Military Bases in their Country (unlike some Id**t I know). 

Indonesia’s Position is very different from that of the Philippines’ which recently gave the US nine Military Bases for free and which the US could and will use in any Conflict over Taiwan. 

‘Prabowo’s Leanings’

Prabowo will run in the upcoming Presidential Elections in Indonesia next Year of 2024, and could succeed the current Indonesian President Joko Widodo. Despite his Pronouncements of Neutrality, Prabowo has allowed the US to make inroads into his Country. 

Like buying their F-15EX Eagle II Fighter Aircraft and Black Hawk Helicopters, for example, and he also allowed thousands of Indonesian Military Cadets to get Military Scholarships in the US which could deepen the US’ influence in Indonesia’s Armed Forces.
