Vietnam expands Land and Facilities on Mascarado/Magsaysay Reef, No Complaints from the Philippines

Radio Free Asia (RFA): Vietnam rapidly builds up South China Sea Reef

Vietnam has now reclaimed four times more Land in the Barque Canada Reef within a Period of less than a Year. The Reef had an Area of only 58 acres at the end of 2022, but this has now increased to 247 acres by November 2023 due to Dredging and Landfill. 

Chinese Observers speculate that Vietnam could build an Airfield at the said Reef, which will then be their second Airfield in the Spratly Islands. Videos have also been shown on Social Media of Large Barges bringing Workers, Sand and other Construction Materials to the Reef recently. 

Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has also issued a Directive to build 200 m^2 of Green Houses in the Reef, and that Soldiers will be trained to do Vegetable Farming and raise Ducks. 

‘Philippine Claim’

Note that the Barque Canada Reef is also being claimed by the Philippines, in fact we have even given Names for it, its called “Bahura ng Mascarado” (Mascarado Reef) or “Bahura ng Magsaysay” (Magsaysay Reef). 

And yet, do you see the Philippines complaining about it? No, the Philippine Press and the supposed “Nationalists” or “Patriots” in the current Government of Bobong Bong Marcos (BBM) are just ignoring it, pretending that it isn’t happening. 

The Philippine Press is even ignoring it and putting a News Black out on it, keeping the News from being read by Filipinos. And if and when they report it, I bet that their Narrative will be that Vietnam is just “defending themselves”, never mind if they are occupying the Territory that we are claiming. 

Also the last time I looked ‘e nakikipag HARUTAN pa ang mga taga Gobyerno sa mga taga Vietnam’ (they were even PLAYFULLY TALKING OR TEASING with those from Vietnam) Why can’t they do that with China, ‘aber’, if they are willing to do that with Vietnam?
