Philippines still BEGGING the US for F-16 funding despite giving them nine Military Bases

Nikkei Asia: Philippines grapples with financial hurdle to buy U.S. F-16 Fighters

I just found it un-fakking-believable that the Philippines still has to practically BEG the United States (US) to give them funding for the acquisition of F-16 Fighter Aircraft DESPITE the Fact that the US were already given so many Military Bases in the Philippines to protect Taiwan. 

This is especially true for Babes Romualdez , the US’ Ambassador to the Philippines (yes, I intentionally wrote that), as he is a staunch Supporter of them and was among those in the Forefront who fought to give them those Bases. A recent Article by the Nikkei Asia News Organization detailed how such “begging” is taking Place right now, here are some Quotes from the Article itself: 

* “Since the U.S. approved the potential sale of 12 F-16 Fighter Jets to the Philippines in 2021, Manila has been contending with the question of how to finance the costly purchase. "It's still too expensive, so we have to find a way to be able to finance it in the long Term. We want to change our [economic] growth," Jose Manuel Romualdez, Philippine Ambassador to the U.S., told Nikkei Asia in an Interview this month.”

* “So another Option for Manila would be U.S. Financial Aid. "We are hoping that [the U.S.] would be able to give us some kind of Assistance, so that we would be able to modernize our Armed Forces almost as quickly as possible," Romualdez said. "Because these are critical times, the sooner we get Things done, the better." The Ambassador's plea for Financial Aid comes as the Philippine Air Force prepares to choose new Fighter Aircraft in the near future, a Major Part of the effort to modernize its Military.”

‘Parting Shot’

So while Indonesia is currently basking in the Glory of the first Bullet Train in South East Asia (SEA) that China built and funded for them, here we are still BEGGING for Scraps from the US. 

'Hindi pa rin ba tinatablan ng Kapal ng Apog yang US na iyan na pagkatapos ng pagpapaka Aso sa Kanila ni Polvoron Boy at Babes Romualdez at pagkatapos nilang makatanggap ng napakaraming Ba-se Militar sa Pilipinas e PINAPALIMOS pa rin ang Pilipinas kahit mga F-16 man lang?’

(Is the US still being so thick faced that even after Polvoron Boy and Babes Romualdez kowtowed to them and even after receiving so many Military Bases in the Philippines, they still want us to BEG just to get even only those F-16 Aircraft?)

As I kept mentioning here, “Act like a Doormat and you will be treated like one”. In this Case, ‘ako na lang yata ang nahihiya para ke Polvoron Boy at Romualdez’ (It seems I’m the only one who is ashamed for Polvoron Boy and Romualdez). 

Anyway, based on the above Information, unless the US helps out, then the Funding if the F-16 Fighter Aircraft are chosen will still NOT be enough as of now.
