Php 3.126 billion Bridge donated by China to Davao to be completed sooner, now at 16% complete

I posted a Video about the Davao River Bridge or Bucana Bridge a couple of Weeks ago, and now there’s another update about it from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) after their latest Inspection Report of it.

And its all great News, first of all is that the Progress of the Bridge is now around 16% complete, or twice that of the 8% complete as per the last update. And second, the Bridge is now scheduled to be completed around four Months earlier, to November 2025 instead of the first Quarter of 2026 that was announced before.

The sooner the Bridge is completed, then the sooner will be the People of Davao will be able to enjoy its use. The Bridge is a major Part of the Davao City Coastal Bypass Project, it is 1.34 km long, will have four Lanes and capable of handling up to 34,000 Vehicles per Day.

As I mentioned before, majority of the funding of this Bridge which is worth Php 3.126 billion is thru an Aid Grant by China, meaning it is a Donation by China to the City of Davao. Note that during the Term of former President Rodrigo Duterte, China had also already donated two Bridges in the National Capital Region (NCR), which are the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge and the Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge

So now, it is Davao’s turn to benefit from China’s generosity. The main Contractor that is constructing this Bridge is the “China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC)”, and if you look closely at some of the Pictures of the Equipment, their Logo is on them.

Anyway, great to see this Project by China in Davao going along very well, I plan to post about every update by the DPWH about it until its completion, which is now set at late next Year of 2025.
