Philippine Air Force plans to integrate GBU-49 Guided Bombs and equip Pilots with Night Vision Devices on its FA-50PH Aircraft

In its “Flight Path Volume IV, July 2020 – The New Normal” Publication released recently, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) outlined plans to integrate the GBU-49 Guided Bomb and equip Pilots with Night Vision Goggles (NVG) of its FA-50PH Fighting Eagle Aircraft.

This will improve the FA-50PH Night Strike Capability. An Assessment Team from the US is set to arrive to determine if the GBU-49 can be integrated into the FA-50PH while the procurement of the NVG will be included on their Budget for next Year (2021).

Philippine Army Special Forces acquiring Assault and Support Boats to fight Islamic Militants in Mindanao

News 5 says that as per an anonymous Colonel of the Philippine Army (PA), the PA’s Special Forces Regiment is acquiring several dozen heavily armed Boats with Night Vision Equipment to fight the Islamic Militants in Mindanao.

The PA’s plan is to acquire 52 Light Scout Assault Boats, 18 Assault Boats and 8 Support Boats from the United States (US)

OUR SEA NEIGHBORS: Indonesia starts Phase 3 Trials of China’s CoronaVac Vaccine

Indonesia, who has a Territorial Dispute with China over the Natuna Islands, is one of the few Countries in the World chosen to take part in the Phase 3 Clinical Trials of China’s Vaccine for the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) called the “CoronaVac”.

The Trials will involve 1,620 Indonesian Volunteers and will last around 6 Months. Even if a Vaccine is approved, a Country still needs to do its own local Clinical Trials, but these Phase 3 Trials could serve as their local Clinical Trials also for Indonesia as I understand it, meaning they will be able to use the Vaccine to the Public much sooner than other Countries.
