Two new Airports are planned for Mindanao, one is the Central Mindanao Airport located in North Cotabato which costs Php 150 million and is already 27% complete. It is expected to open before the end of President Rodrigo Duterte’s term in 2022.

The other is the new Zamboanga International Airport worth Php 13.9 billion which will be built at a new location. It is expected to start construction in 2021 and will have a Terminal, Control Tower, six Jet Bridges and a 3,440 m long Runway.

The current Zamboanga International Airport has no Jet Bridges and has a shorter 2,160 m long Runway which it shares with the Edwin Andrews Air Base of the Philippine Air Force (PAF)

Notice how most of the Philippine Press refused to publish this, preferring to report negative News instead, any News as long as it is negative and embarrasses the Government.
