In an exclusive Interview with the Maritime Fairtrade Website, Philippine Navy (PN) Chief Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo said that the Government had already signed the Contract with Company Israel Shipyards for the acquisition of 9 Shaldag Mk V Fast Attack Interdiction Craft - Missile (FAIC-M)

However, he also mentioned in the Interview that the Notice to Proceed (NTP) has not been released yet as of April 2021. They still estimate though that the delivery of the first 3 Boats will be made in 2022, another 3 in 2023 and with the last Batch in 2024.

The last 2 Units will be manufactured in the Philippines while Usd 80 million has been allocated for the upgrade of the Cavite Naval Shipyard.

'My Notes'
The Notice of Award (NOA) for the FAIC-Ms were released also in January 2021, and previous News Reports said that 4 were going to be built in the Philippines.

However, after negotiations it seems this has been narrowed to just 2 as stated by Adm. Bacordo above in the Interview.
