More Officials of the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) recently confirmed to the Press that the United States (US) has approved the export of the CTS800 Engines on the T129 ATAK Helicopters to the Philippines.

Serdar Demir, the Marketing and Communications Director of TAI said that the US has issued the required documentations for the export of the Engines of six (6) T129 Helicopters for the Philippines.

Another TAI Official who refused to be named publicly claimed that the US designed Engines were below the Usd 25 million threshold in terms of total value and thus did not require Congressional approval anymore, and that the approval had come from the US State Department instead.

Late last Month (April 2021), the General Manager of TAI Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil announced to the Turkish Press recently that his Company had finally been given permission by the US to export the CTS800 Engines licensed made in Turkey to the Philippines.
