Shameless display of China-baiting and American A$$ Kissing by GMA News on the issue of Liao Qiuyun

GMA News' shameless and biased manipulation of the News thru captioning and use of Pictures 

An utterly shameless display of China-baiting and American A$$ Kissing was made by the Philippine News Publication GMA News recently on the issue of Chinese Weightlifter Liao Qiuyun. 

GMA News made an Article on how Bronze Medalists were supposedly happier than Silver Medalists, then used a Picture for the Article of Hidilyn Diaz posing candidly with a Bronze Medalist while Silver Medalist Liao was standing pensively on one side. 

This was during the awarding of the Medals of the Women’s 55 kg Weightlifting Event in the recent 2020 Tokyo Olympics. 

In contrast, as reported by DZRH, Liao showed great Sportsmanship by praising Hidilyn and giving her respect. 

‘China-baiting’

They are This is a clear example of “China-baiting”, or deliberately annoying or taunting China by making fun of Liao as part of their campaign of demonizing China. 

And for me this is also an act of their subservience and A$$ Kissing to the Americans since they are only doing it to China, probably as what the Americans wanted because China is their rival. 

Why isn’t GMA News doing this also to Taiwan for example, who stole Itu Aba from the Philippines and up to now is still claiming Batanes and Pag-Asa Island as theirs? 

Vietnam stole Pugad Island and Malaysia stole Sabah from the Philippines, and yet you don’t see them do this to Athletes of those Countries. They are targeting only China because that is what the United States (US) want. 

‘Lack of Professionalism’

This also shows the utter lack of Professionalism on the part of Philippine Press. As Journalists, they are supposed to be fair and balanced in the reporting of the News. 

They are supposed to only report the News as it is and let the Readers form their own opinions based on that, not manipulate the News to try to influence the Readers to follow their beliefs, like kissing America’s A$$, for example.
