DPWH completes Php 416 million School Compound inside the Fernando Air Base in Batangas

Great News, an entire School Compound composed of 7 4-storey Buildings in a 2.2 hectare Lot was recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inside the Fernando Air Base (FAB) of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) in Batangas

The School Compound is worth a total of Php 416 million and composed of:

Ziwoo I&T Company completed installation and delivery of Simulation System for the AFP

The South Korean Company Ziwoo Information and Technology recently announced the completion of the installation and delivery of their “Shooting Guide” Tactical Shooting Simulation System for the Virtual – Tactical Engagement Simulation System (V-TESS) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)

The System is a fully interactive, 3-dimensional Shooting Training System that uses various types of Small Arms from Pistols, Carbines, Assault Rifles, Heavy Machine Guns, Rocket Propelled Grenades, etc to shoot Targets on Environments projected on a Wall. 

It uses Class 1 Eye Safe Laser Systems to designate where the Target is hit, and can last up to 6 Months even when used for 5-8 Hour per Day.

Philippines makes 3 million Covid-19 Tests, maximum Testing Capacity now at 42,000 per Day

In another piece of News that the Philippine Press is ignoring, the Philippines has reached 3 million Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) Tests for the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of the middle of September 2020. 

Its maximum RT-PCR Testing Capacity is also now 42,000 per Day compared to just 500 per Day in March 2020. The number of accredited Laboratories to do Covid-19 Tests has also now increased to 125.

Philippine Broadband Internet Speed at least doubled since 2016 – US Internet Company

The American Company Ookla recently said in their Speedtest Global Index Report that the Philippines’ Broadband Internet Speed has at least doubled since 2016, with the Fixed Broadband Speed increasing from just 7.91 Mbps in 2016 to 25 Mbps in 2020, or a 3-fold increase. 

The Philippines’ Mobile Broadband Internet Speed on the other hand rose from 7.44 Mbps in 2016 to 16.95 Mbps in 2020 for a 2-fold increase.

DPWH completes 3 Road Improvement Projects to Tourist Spots in Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed 3 Road Improvement Projects in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental that lead to Tourist Spots. 

One Project was a 1.16 km Road from the National Road worth Php 29 million that lead to Mag-aso Falls, another was a separate 560 m Road from Sitio Pitgong worth Php 9 million that also lead to Mag-aso Falls.

Philippines rises 46 places in the Global Innovation Index from 2014 to 2019

Great news, the Philippines rose 46 places in the Global Innovation Index (GII) from 100th Place in 2014 to 54th Place in 2019. 

The GII is a yearly ranking of Countries co-published by Cornell University, Institut Europeen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

New Php 233 million Living Quarters in Camp Aguinaldo

2 new 5-story Living Quarters worth Php 233 million was recently inaugurated by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inside Camp Aguinaldo of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)

The new Living Quarters has a total of 176 Units, each unit with a size of 35 square meters. Parking Space is available on the Ground Floor, and construction of the Project started in August 2018.
