3 Philippine Air Force A-29 Super Tucano to fly to Bangladesh today, 3 others to fly to India also today

From the FlightAware Website, the 3 Philippine Air Force (PAF) A-29 Super Tucano Aircraft with Registration Codes PT-ZZM, PT-ZZN and PT-ZZO in India are scheduled to fly to Bangladesh today, Tuesday, September 15, 2020 to continue their Journey to the Philippines. 

The 3 other PAF A-29 Super Tucano Aircraft with Registration Codes PT-ZZQ, PT-ZZS and PT-ZZU it turns out are still in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and are scheduled to make their flight to India also today.

SOCOM officially changed its Beret

The Special Operations Command (SOCOM) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) officially changed its Beret from Dark Green to Brown recently. The new Brown Beret also contains the new Maharlika Badge. 

The SOCOM originally started as the SOCOM for the Philippine Army (PA) in 1996 when they adopted the Dark Green Beret, but was expanded to the SOCOM for the entire AFP in 2018 as part of the Lessons learned during the 2013 Zamboanga Siege and 2017 Battle of Marawi.

Philippine Army set to receive 4 UH-60 Black Hawk and 4 AH-1 Cobra Helicopters from the US - Sen. Tolentino

During a Hearing of the Commission on Appointments (CA), Senator Francis Tolentino said that the Philippine Army’s (PA) Aviation Regiment is set to receive 4 UH-60 Black Hawk and 4 AH-1 Cobra Helicopters from the United States (US). 

It was reported in the Press early this Year in February 2020 that the US was offering the second hand Units of the Black Hawk and Cobra Helicopters to the PA, and it seems that the PA has now accepted them. 

The aircraft will be provided for free, but the Philippines still needs to spend for the Repairs, Shipment, Armaments and Avionics of the Aircraft.

Philippines rises 46 places in the Global Innovation Index from 2014 to 2019

Great news, the Philippines rose 46 places in the Global Innovation Index (GII) from 100th Place in 2014 to 54th Place in 2019. 

The GII is a yearly ranking of Countries co-published by Cornell University, Institut Europeen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).  

3 Philippine Air Force A-29 Super Tucanos now in the UAE, scheduled to fly to India today

From the FlightAware Website, the 3 Philippine Air Force (PAF) A-29 Super Tucano Aircraft with Registration Codes PT-ZZM, PT-ZZN and PT-ZZO are now in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and are scheduled to fly later today, Monday, September 14, 2020 to the next leg of their Flight which is India. 

However, the status of the 3 other PAF A-29 Super Tucano Aircraft with Registration Codes PT-ZZQ, PT-ZZS and PT-ZZU has not been updated on the FlightAware Website since their arrival in Egypt a couple of Days ago.

Russia willing to allow production of their Sputnik V Covid-19 Vaccine in the Philippines

Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Igor Khovaev said that his Country is willing to have their Sputnik V Vaccine for the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) produced in the Philippines. 

The Sputnik V has been found to be safe and effective in ongoing Trials by the prestigious Medical Journal, “The Lancet”. Also as far as I know, this is the only offer of Philippine production of any Covid-19 Vaccine that are out there so far . 

I think this offer is very generous, we should accept it if the final result show that it is really safe and effective, and that the Government should move quickly on this one

New Php 233 million Living Quarters in Camp Aguinaldo

2 new 5-story Living Quarters worth Php 233 million was recently inaugurated by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inside Camp Aguinaldo of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). 

The new Living Quarters has a total of 176 Units, each unit with a size of 35 square meters. Parking Space is available on the Ground Floor, and construction of the Project started in August 2018.
