Below are the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) Vaccine delivery developments in the Philippines for Week April 11-17, 2021:

‘CoronaVac’
China delivered 500,000 doses of the CoronaVac Vaccine last April 11, 2021. They are set to deliver another 1,000,000 doses for the Month of April 2021. So far they have already delivered 2.5 million doses of the CoronaVac since February 2021.

‘Sputnik V’
Russia was supposed to deliver 500,000 doses of their Sputnik V Vaccine last April 12, 2021, but it didn’t materialize. No definite date yet for the rescheduled delivery.

Also a deal for 20 million doses of the Sputnik V Vaccine was supposed to have been signed last Week, but there was no announcement of the signing itself so the status of this is still unknown as of now.

‘Parting Shot’
I think it is worrying that the Sputnik V delivery not only keeps going down in quantity, but it keeps getting delayed also. So again, China has been our most reliable source of Vaccines.

Just imagine, if President Rodrigo Duterte kept antagonizing China the same way that former President AbNoy Panot did, where would the Philippines be now in terms of Covid-19 Vaccines?
